Checking no oil on the dip stick. Looking at sticker, was almost 2K overdue for an oil change. Drain oil and check, less than 1 1/2 quarts came out (see pic). This is a VVT (variable valve timing) engine that uses hydrolic (oil) pressure to adjust timing. With being very low on oil would account for miss fire codes. No apparent leaks, engine is starting to use oil. Suggest checking monthly and top off between oil changes.
Drain and change oil and oil filter. Check air filter and cabin air filter, good. Check all fluid levels, topped off what was needed. Preform basic safety inspection front and rear suspension. Checked belts and hoses.

RR tail light bulb was shorting out the brake lights. Socket for bulb is bad. Was able to find one close to it…. but should be replaced with a KIA socket. Also left side running light was out. Replace the bad bulbs, wire in different socket. Test… all working at this time.
